Description	Portrait of Otto and Margaret Knoblauch, Woodburn, Indiana. Otto Knoblauch (1846-1931) and his wife Margaret (1855-1946) came to Woodburn in 1881 from Riga, Lenawee County, Michigan, attracted by the abundant timber in the Woodburn area. He moved his sawmill here and established a business south of the depot on Union Street (now Bull Rapids Street). He later built one of the first homes in Woodburn at the corner of Center and Front Streets. Here he operated a grocery store in a portion of his home. He also served for a time as postmaster. It was in his home that Christ Lutheran Church first held classes for its parochial school. At one time Mr. Knoblauch owned 800 acres of land, and after most of the timber had been depleted, he turned his interest to farming. He laid out the Knoblauch addition in 1895 on ground north of Main Street.
